Nofollow

[Spam]I’m happy to report that comment-spammers will no longer see any benefit in polluting this site with their swill, at least in reference to Google‘s PageRank system. I’ve implemented changes to the CMS to include the rel=”nofollow” tag in all comment-based URIs on entries here. This means that a link to deguia.net within a post will use the normal syntax, but if that site’s stalwart webmeister were to comment on a given entry here, Google will give his site no additional weight.

I’m not aware of any implementation of the ref=”nofollow” system on other search engines, but Google is so dominant these days that a widespread adoption of this will be sure to hit spammers’ bottom-lines. Between this and my keyword-blacklisting system, this site is becoming increasingly spam-hostile.
