Well, they’ve finally done it. SBC has gobbled up its former parent company, AT&T. The merger brings together a huge portion of the former telecommunications monopoly we all knew as “Ma Bell” once upon a time. The unholy union was announced today by various media outlets, and heralds a new golden age for the telecom giant, giving additional leverage for this company to throw its considerable weight around and consolidate some of the rather extensive lobbying these two corporations have been up to for years. Happily, we have no word yet that they are amassing an army. Yet.
