Damage-Reducing Armor

Monday, September 30th, 2002

In the interest of making things more “realistic” at the expense of ease-of-play, let’s look at what may happen if armor, instead of making you harder to hit, made it harder to HURT you.

Adventures of Burrowowl

Friday, September 27th, 2002

I’m pleased to report that passage through Jenquai space has been without serious incedent, though the nature of my current mission is not exactly in their better interest. Beta Testing Done

Tuesday, September 24th, 2002

Earth and Beyond had a lovely public beta, the tail end of which I participated lightly in. Think of it as a massively multiplayer 3-d Tradewars. With my Terran Trader I spent many happy hours plying the trade routes from Somerled Station in Tau Ceti to ports of call various and sundry.

Last night at 9pm the beta closed down for the commercial release. The servers will be back up at noon today for the commercial release. Things ended with a bang, and a fair ammount of lag as hundreds of Red Dragon Pirates invaded the Sol system. I saw the fighting, but stayed my hand: there’s no profit in such combat after all.

All of this has thoughts of reviving the stopshootingat.us website, though this remains to be seen.
