Itsudatte My Santa

August 7th, 2003

Mai SantaFile under “cute.” Sure, that’s what we do with everything by Ken Akamatsu, creator of such as Love Hina and Love Don’t Stop, makes a lot of cute work. Itsudatte My Santa is a mild departure in that this story, unlike many of the “harem manga” stories about the “lovable dolt” archetype, this story is concise, straightforward, and finite. That’s right, it has an ending, and ends when it makes sense for it to.

I found this particular manga with the aid of the fine folks at Manga-Jouhou, as translated by Akatsuki-Manga. You can purchase it if you like, the art is quite good.

I must admit that I don’t know; I don’t have an ISBN for it. It was a two-shot title that appeared in Shounen Jump back in 1998. You can probably still get this title online through the Akatsuki-Manga scanslation group.

Yep, it’s a manga title, released in two parts in English a while back. You may yet be able to get a copy off their IRC channel. Follow the above link to Akatsuki Manga for IRC info.

To my knowledge, there is no commercially-available English translation of this title. It was done as a “fan translation” by a group of manga enthusiasts, and was released for free on the internet.
